Watch as Coach A.G. Kruger explains, and a thrower demonstrates these box jump drills. These are great drills because they involve body movement without added weight and work on explosiveness. The 1st drill is landing like a ninja and using a low box. The jumper wants to land as light as he can on his toes. The 2nd drill is land, jump, land, jump with the jumper using the stretch reflex going up and down. The 3rd drill series uses a high 36-inch box. Coach will cover the seated and walk-in box jumps. He recommends using a step-off box and spotter when using higher boxes.
