Watch as Coach explains that he has noticed that 90% of male hurdlers extend the lead leg at takeoff. Once the knee is directly over the hurdle it should be bent and not remain extended in a locked knee position. The only time a hurdler can accelerate is at take off and touch down and if the leg is extended, then the hurdler is floating, which means lost time.
