Watch as Coach Shelton Ervin discusses not allowing anyone to put you in a box. This applies to administrators, parents, athletes, and assistant coaches. Your goal is to develop track and field athletes and not be one dimensional. Each aspect of the team is essential for the overall success of a program. He recommends that, as a head coach, you not focus on your specialty but observe all the different events in practice. This helps build relationships with all of the athletes.
