Steering in the Long Jump Approach with Brooke Rasnick – Univ. of Louisville

May 18, 2021 • By USTFCCCA

Watch as Coach explains that some athletes steer well on the long jump approach while others do not, and that creates inconsistency. To improve steering ability, she suggests using short approach jumps from the board at practice. Ask the jumpers where they thought they were on the board and then confirm or correct. Coach explains two games, Random Start and Dice - Approach, which are a fun way to assist the jumpers in steering.
