Watch as Coach Don Babbitt explains, and a thrower demonstrates the proper release when throwing the discus. The discus should come out front and not the back of the hand. Holding the discus at your side and letting it roll out of the hand is a good drill for beginners to emphasize the discus coming out properly. Coach will explain all aspects of the release.
