Watch as Coach Zach Weinberg explains, and a player demonstrates this square to pole drill that works on setting footwork and placement. Setters will choose a target and focus on squaring up when setting and landing with feet facing that target. Coach wants his setter to visualize where she wants the attacker to hit the ball, which helps keep them off the net. Having players exaggerate the squaring up movement in practice makes it easier to implement correctly in a game.
