Coach discusses the purpose of acceleration and poses the question "what are we trying to accomplish with acceleration?" He wants the sprinters not staying low but pushing to a power line and driving aggressively and rising. The goal is to put the sprinter in to position to maximize top speed in an efficient and powerful fashion while sustaining their position, shape, and velocity late into the race.
