Beginner Hurdle Drill with Randy Bermea – Rockwall High School (TX)

June 3, 2024 • By Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Insider

Watch as Coach Randy Bermea explains and shows practice video of the intro hurdle drill (trail leg drill) he uses for the incoming freshman. The athlete will take one step into the hurdle with the knee up and the thigh parallel to the ground, then slamming it to the ground. The emphasis is on planting and going through the hurdle. The focus is on the upperclassmen teaching the incoming freshman the first day of practice as it helps build relationships and camaraderie.

Randy Bermea was previously as coach at Harlingen High School (TX).
