The Ideal Coach/Athlete with Dr. Lee Dorpfeld – Univ. of South Florida

April 20, 2021 • By Wrestling Coaches Insider

The ideal athlete and coach have the following six components: resilience, persistence, tolerance of discomfort, confidence, can perform under pressure, and consistence. Dr. Lee Dorpfeld explains that changes in performance may be tied to mental health issues. It is hard to separate mental health from performance. When you notice a change in performance, communicate with the athlete to determine what else is going on with them.
