Watch as Sam Buscher explains that turf toe is a nagging injury that can be frustrating for all involved. He recommends inserting a carbon fiber plate in the bottom of a wrestler's shoe which will keep the big toe from extending, giving the ligament a break. Ligaments take longer to heal because they can't be worked out like muscles can. If the wrestler thinks he can go, then stabilize the ligament and control inflammation post-practice.
