Pitchers want to throw competitive pitches that put pressure on both the hitter and the umpire to make a decision because all the pitches look like strikes. Coach will explain how to use the hurdles and obstacles and how the focus is on being as close to the obstacle as possible without hitting it. If the pitcher is constantly hitting the obstacles, then adjustments must be made.
