Watch as Coach Kenzi Corn explains and demonstrates the run-and-catch and run-and-throw slapping drills. The first drill consists of the slapper using her glove and running through the box, catching a tossed ball. The focus is to catch the ball out front while running through the box. The drill is used for slappers with poor hand-eye coordination or those struggling by pulling off to first base. The run-and-throw drill is used for a beginning slapper. The slapper holds a tennis or regular ball with the fingertips up. Using the normal step, the slapper will throw the ball in the direction where they want the ball to end up.
