Watch as Coach discusses the importance of outfielders working on balls in the gap, both on the ground and in the air. The goal is for the outfielder to get to a ball and to the cut-off or base in less than 5.5 seconds. The drill consists of a coach hitting grounders and fly balls into the gap and the outfielders working on making the correct throw in 5.5 seconds. This drill involves game-like speed and pressure.
