Watch as Coach Vicki Corn explains, and players demonstrate this 6-part bunting progression that uses tennis balls simulating catching a raw egg on the end of the bat. The progression starts with a toss and catch with the top hand. The 2nd part is to angle down, focusing on hitting the ball down, not out. Next, the bunter will use the last 4 inches of the bat that helps deaden the ball and pushes it down. The one-hand drill follows catching the ball with the last 4 inches of the bat and angling down. The batters will switch hands and focus on getting the ball down at least 3 feet in front of the plate. The bunt drill finishes the progression.
