Relationships Are Key with Tom Izzo – Michigan State Univ.

View more from the video provider • June 12, 2024 • By Championship Productions

Watch as Coach Tom Izzo explains that developing relationships is key at any level. Relationships take time and require a coach to figure out what a player does, what they want and what they are looking for. He believes communication is the key and emphasizes not being afraid of face-to-face meetings. Honesty, trust, and listening are major parts of a relationship. Being honest is hard and sometimes unpleasant. Trust must be a two-way street and listening requires a coach to hear what the players are saying.
