Todd Pawelek explains that ethics in sports require four key virtues: Fairness, Integrity, Responsibility, and Respect. Fairness is making sure that you follow established rules, especially residency requirements and the recruiting of athletes. Coaches as well as players conduct toward referees must always be respectful. Responsibility focuses on sportsmanship and requires coaches and athletes to take responsibility for their performance and actions during the game. Don't blame the referees for results but focus on the aspects of a game that you can control. It is the responsibility of coaches, players, and parents to show respect to all coaches, teammates, referees, opponents, and opposing fans.
