Watch as Coach Dakota Bauer explains and demonstrates three ways of defending the spiral ride. #1 is Changeover: when you feel pressure, take the inside hand and clear it over and go to the far butt cheek. #2 is Knee Dip: get to the tripod position and drop the inside knee to the floor, bringing the outside leg up to a standing position. #3 is Trapping the Inside Arm: get to the tripod position and sit back on the haunches and trap the arm by moving your hand outside or behind your foot. Attack the fingers and bring your arm to the inside and either bring his arm over your head or go to an underhook.
