Middles Warmup: Tracking the Ball with Jessica Burke – St. Thomas More Catholic High School (LA)

Watch full video with Volleyball +Plus here. • June 9, 2025 • By American Volleyball Coaches Association

Watch as Coach Jessica Burke explains, and players demonstrate this warmup for middles which helps train ball tracking. Middles start by hitting off a toss, following the ball in to attack. Coach adds a setter to deliver multiple different sets, forcing middles to track the ball and look for angles. Coach uses blue tape on the opposite side to mark high-scoring areas giving middles a target.
