Watch as Coach Howard Dobson explains and shows video of these snap hitting drills incorporating PVC pipe. The pipe should be 5 feet long and a 1/2 inch thick, as these dimensions will allow for the flex that is needed. The batter will try to snap the PVC pipe without moving the hands forward. As the batter gets ready to stretch and launch, they snap and cause the whip to get through. The second drill involves holding the PVC behind the neck and working the bend while isolating and turning, keeping the feet from moving and letting the PVC snap the batter around.
