Watch as Coach Stephanie Desmarais explains, and players demonstrate a series of defensive drills that focus on fundamentals. Coach wants the players staying low in a good defensive position with active hands and feet and always communicating. It is important to emphasize body position and keeping an arm’s length from the opponent to prevent a blow by and try to force the ball to the baseline or make the opponent use their left hand. Coach will explain, and the players will demonstrate the following drills: Chair Drill, Partner Progression Drill, Lunge Step Drill, Baseline Drill, and a Competition Drill. Coach will also show a couple drills that focuses on bumping the cutter.
