Watch as Coach explains that no matter how ugly it is, the outfielders must be able to make the catch on all fly balls. Coach will discuss different drills that he uses to prepare his outfielders to make that awkward catch. Have the players lie on their back and pop up and locate the ball and go get it. Another drill is having the outfielder break in either direction and throw the ball to the opposite shoulder. The goal is to make the players feel uncomfortable in certain situations and force them to be athletes and make the catch.
