Pitcher’s Hinge Drill with Zach Butler – Univ. of Texas of San Antonio

Watch as Coach Zach Butler explains, and a pitcher demonstrates the Hinge Drill. This drill is used to activate the lower half and the core, and the pitchers do this after finishing their throwing routine. The pitcher will hold a 10 lb. weight out in front with not quite full extension, and with a little flex in the elbows. The pitcher will simulate a pitch using lower half with the knee staying over the ankle as long as possible.
