Number of Players: 8-15

Number of Players: 8-15

Objective: To work on serve receive and serving in a competitive environment.

Directions:

  1. Team 1 serves to Team 2 and vice versa.
  2. Give a point, for every 3 ball pass a team executes. Goal is to get 50 passes in 5 minutes.
  3. After 5 minutes, do the same drill but with cross court serves. Move passers to other side of court.
  4. We like to use two missed serves in a row equal a negative point and aces equal a point.
  5. We have a coach keep track of each team and communicate verbally to the other coach on two missed serves.

Variations:

Servers can serve from anywhere, 2 or 3 rated passes count, negative points for two missed serves in a row, bonus points for aces, use down balls instead of serves, use two passers if servers struggle with control, and increase serving zone size to increase passers range.
