Watch as Coach Leah Campbell explains and shows practice video of this 2-plate hitting drill. The 1st plate is set up from the machine at 39-40 ft. and the 2nd plate is 4 to 5 ft. behind the 1st plate. The hitter starts out getting 3 pitches while at the 1st plate, simulating fastballs. The hitter moves to the back plate and gets 3 pitches simulating changeups and must adjust to the varying speeds. The hitter finishes back at the 1st plate facing 1 fastball. Coach Campbell will also explain several variations for this drill depending on your team's needs.
