Make the 3rd-Level Defender a Stationary Target with Tony Alford – Ohio State Univ.

Watch full video with Football +Plus here. • November 8, 2023 • By Nike Coach of the Year Clinics

Watch as Coach Tony Alford explains and shows practice and game clips focusing on making the third-level defender a stationary target. The first drill utilizes a large ball that represents the drop-down safety. As the RB comes out of the chute, they must plant and make a move to miss the oncoming ball. The second drill is a stick and back door where the ball represents a defender attacking from an angle.
