Watch as Coach explains, and infielders demonstrate this first step read drill. One of the major problems for infielders involves their footwork and angles taken on a ground ball. This drill is working on forehand movements, eliminating false steps by pivoting and crossing over to take the proper angle to the ball. Better first steps and proper angles increase an infielder's range. This drill should be used for forehand and backhand.
