Watch as Coach Peter Fatse discusses hitting the inside fastball. Hitting is about time and space and hitters who struggle with an inside fastball may have a loading issue. The hitter can be late reaching the point to fire, and they open to recover space and constantly hit balls out of play. The Up and Not Across Drill involves placing a tee in front of the batter's hip and flipping balls to the inside on the line. The hitter must focus on trying to hit a fly ball to right center field.
