First Base Leads with Seth LaRue – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

May 11, 2021 • By American Baseball Coaches Association

Watch as Coach explains that the basic lead for all of his players is a left, right, left, turn with the back foot at 9 feet. The runner with a red lead at 10 feet is still very aggressive on all dirtballs and contact, bouncing toward 2nd or getting back hard. Yellow is at 11 feet, and this is based off what the pitcher is doing, and his pickoff move. Green is at 12 feet and is usually a steal position.
