Superintendent Jeni Neatherlin explains what she thinks makes a great Athletic Director. If the AD is also the head football coach, they are a great AD by having a successful win-loss record and are good with the kids as well as the community. They have experience in hiring coaches, managing people, and delegating. ADs who are non-football coaches are a different entity as they must see the overall big picture and working parts. In either case, a great AD must know how to hire good people, communicate well, and engage with kids.
