Stomp the ANTs with Dr. Cindra Kamphoff – Mentally Strong

April 25, 2022 • By ADInsider

Dr. Cindra Kamphoff explains that 'ANTs' (automatic negative thoughts) can get in the way of being resilient. These thoughts are automatic and can influence the way you think about yourself, your community, or your coaches. She will present and discuss 4 thought principles to rely on when your mind is in a replay loop. 1. Thoughts only have power if you believe them, 2. Your focus determines your feelings, 3. Mood follows actions, and 4. "I will, I can" is the best way to talk to yourself.

Dr. Cindra Kamphoff is the Founder and Director of the Center for Sport & Performance Psychology, a professor at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and Author of Beyond Grit: Ten Powerful Practices to Gain the High-Performance Edge
