Josh Mathews discusses strategies for handling parent expectations in a positive manner. He uses a PowerPoint that is distributed to all the individual booster club/parent pre-season meetings. This PowerPoint explains the athletics programs' expectations for the booster clubs and parents. The athletic community including teachers, students, and parents are sent a weekly video newsletter that discusses past and upcoming events and also includes expectations on sportsmanship. The athletic kickoff night is another strategy consisting of a dinner, featured speaker, and a state of the program delivered by the Athletic Director. The attendees are provided with a program that highlights the school's student-athlete recognition program.
