Trish Witkin discusses sportsmanship and explains Connecticut's Class Act voluntary sportsmanship program. She states that schools can do all the programing and education concerning sportsmanship, but something will always happen. The Class Act program is about what you do next, having a plan on dealing with potential issues, and not being unrealistic in thinking nothing will ever happen. Engaging your student-athlete advisory group and recognizing any issues that have occurred, empowers your student leaders who are members of the athletic teams to be part of the solution that benefits the entire school.
