Watch as Coach explains, and players demonstrate this triangle protection defensive drill. The offensive player wants to protect the ball and pound it to get it back in the hand as quickly as possible. They will power dribble to the elbow, trying to create as much space as possible, then return to the 3 and switch direction, attacking the opposite elbow. The defender is trying to knock the ball out on a change of direction.
