Watch as Coach David Peavy explains, and players demonstrate the Gladiator Closeout Drill. The ball will start in the corner and the corner player will pass to the wing and sprint to the opposite wing to closeout. The wing passes to the opposite wing and sprints to the opposite corner to closeout. Now it becomes a 2 on 2 and the offense can do whatever they want to do. The defense can work on ball screen coverages, switch, hedge, and ice. Communication, high hands, and not giving up penetration are key for the defensive players.
