Watch as Coach discusses the benefits and challenges of a narrow back three defensive formation. The formation is very compact in the middle in which the 5s are more focused on defense and will pick up the opponents’ strikers. The 4 is a sweeper who will cover in defense, stepping up to the ball to be more creative. The outside 7 and 11 must be very disciplined to be able to defend and attack and the 4 may need to cover in wider positions.
