Attacking Down the Flank

By: Manuel Cordova

Provided by: NSCAA

Notes:

1Activity 1) Player 1 plays ball to Player 2 who receives across their body and plays to Player 3. Player 3 receives and plays to Player 4 who has a tight touch and plays a quality ball to the target in the 18 yard box. All players will follow their pass in the middle diamond Keep wide players in the same spot. As soon as the target finishes you do the same rotation on the left side.

Activity 2) Same rotation as above now when Player 4 receives the ball they take an aggressive touch endline and Player 5 will support in the attack. Player 4 step-over turn/Cryuff turn and drops ball to Player 5 who serves the ball into the target.

Activity 3) Same rotation as above now player 4 has the option to receive and tuck inside and finish.

Coaching Points:
1) Quality of service ball must beat the back line and the goalkeeper to be a quality service.2) dynamic turn to lay ball off to outside back, weight of the pass. 3) Accurate ball to the target 4) Receive, tuck inside and finish
