Watch as Coaches Nat St. Laurent and Collin Stephens explain, and players demonstrate this Polar Bear GB drill. A player will run to a ground ball that is between 2 players who have their sticks crossed over the ball lined up 15 to 20 yards away. Attack the ball exploding through the sticks, keeping the butt down, the shoulder low, and running away from pressure. Long sticks must keep the stick low so that if your stick is contacted the ball will stay on the ground in an area that you can control. Shorties must scoop through and "bring the phone up to the ear."
