Watch as Coach Patrick Tuohy explains, and players demonstrate the Defensive L-Cone Drill. The defensive player will sprint forward and as he approaches the cone, he will break down extending the stick in a poke check. The player will shuffle laterally to the next cone then run forward repeating the process. The 2nd phase involves the player using a carioca instead of a shuffle to move laterally so the run will be a sprint, carioca, sprint. The last phase works on lateral runs that involve crossing over the left or right foot depending on the direction. It is important to keep the chest square.
Patrick Tuohy is currently the Director of 3d Garden State.
