Watch as Coach Kirby Smart explains, and players demonstrate this defensive rodeo drill. Today's offenses feature dual-threat QBs who are very athletic. The drill simulates a pass runner finishing on a mobile QB in a confined space inside of a box. The defender must attack the up-field shoulder, punch and rip at the ball, and then finish. The more practice reps, the better the defenders will perform in in-game situations.
