Watch as Coach Alex Atkins explains flat skip pulling and shows practice video drills. With the flat pull, the guard's eyes are looking straight down the line of scrimmage. If something crosses the face, the guard's helmet adjusts to hit the edge pressure. If nothing crosses the guard's face, they will tighten up the 2nd step into the line, preparing to block the DE. The skip pull technique is for the second puller -- they want to be square to the LOS and one yard off and 1 yard deep off the defender while reading the near hip. If the near hip stays, the puller goes inside and if it goes away, the puller goes around.
