Watch as Coach Manny Diaz explains and shows practice video of this angle tackling drill. The drill is in a 12-yard box with the players lining up at the top of the numbers. This is not a hard contact drill, and you can run the drill with tagging instead of tackling. The defender must run at the ball carrier and not where he thinks the offensive player is going to go. The key is working on keeping good leverage. Tackling is not always perfect, but if your players can focus on grabbing, wrapping, and rolling, your defensive tackling efficiency will improve.
