Practice vs. Games with Michael Cuddyer – USA Baseball

August 17, 2021 • By Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association

Michael Cuddyer discusses USA Baseball's recommendations that individual player development occurs best when players have a ratio of at least 50% practice and 50% games. In youth baseball, the opposite is occurring with 80% games vs. 20% practice. Games reinforce the skills developed in practice and if you want to make a high school team or move on to college you need to develop the required skillset in practice situations.
