From the THSBCA Houston On-Field Clinic, watch as Coach Ricky Watkins explains, and infielders demonstrate these hexagon footwork drills. Coach prefers the hexagons instead of the ladder when working on fielding. The 1st drill uses one hexagon, with the player stepping in and out, then getting around the hexagon and fielding the ball with two hands. Repeat the same process then field the ball with one hand. The 2nd drill uses four hexagons lined up with the players going through, laterally fielding the ball with two hands, then with one hand, finishing up working the back hand. The 3rd drill has the fielder going through laterally, fielding the ball forehanded then changing direction and fielding the ball backhanded.
