Watch as Coach Nick Derba explains and shows practice videos of baserunning leads. Players focus on timing in the leads and footwork while leading off a base for a potential steal. For timing, you can use a tennis ball. You start by tossing the tennis ball up, which signals the practice runner to begin stealing the base, and they must get to the base before the tennis ball hits the ground.
