Darryl Nance discusses his formula for when a coach needs to be let go. It starts with an evaluation of the program based on factors such as participation level and the overall general feeling on the health of the program. Win-loss ratio should not be the reason you make a coaching change although it often is. It is important to communicate with a coach about any concerns that you may have, ask how they intend to reinvigorate the program, and produce a plan on how this will happen. When you have decided that the situation is not working, you must make the change.
