Rob Rafeh discusses onboarding off-campus coaches in today's scholastic environment. In some cases, over 25% of a school's coaches are not on campus and they are not part of the fabric or culture of the school. As the AD, Rob has pre-season and post-season meetings with his off-campus coaches explaining the school's policies and values. He stresses that this process does take time as off-campus coaches are working with a team for 2 or 3 months and not present the remainder of the year. This summer, the school is initiating a "Coaches Workshop" that will involve all on- and off-campus coaches for a general review of what is expected.
