New Technology in Athletics and Cyberbullying with Dave Harms – Northridge HS (IN)

July 31, 2018 • By ADInsider

Technology is stripping us of our humanity - people are more in tune with gadgets than they are with each other...that is one reason they feel nothing when they slander, haze, bully someone online...unlike the old days when you stuffed someone in a trash can and had to look them in the eye while doing it. Because of the anonymity of the internet, kids can easily post cruel and untrue comments with no personal responsibility attached.

Cyberbullying

  • The use of electronic means to harass, intimidate, or bully another individual
  • It can cause physical harm to a student or cause damage to their property
  • It can interfere with the student's education and/or disrupt the orderly operation of a school
  • Can lead to cybercide - to obliterate your online persona
