Integrating Technology for Fans: Create an Athletic App with Colin Fegeley, CMAA – Green Level High School (NC)

March 6, 2025 • By National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association

Colin Fegeley discusses enhancing the game day experience for fans by integrating technology. He explains how Green Level High School launched an athletic app last year that provides a more collegiate and professional experience for their athletes and families. The app has a fan guide that includes schedules, rosters, an awards page, coach bios, tickets and passes, podcast videos linking to the Booster’s website, and team gear (every team has its own page). Colin explains how he uses apps, push notifications, and geofencing technology, as well as the financial benefit of sponsorship and increased advertising revenue.

The NIAAA champions the profession of athletic administration through educational opportunities, advocating ethics, developing leaders, and fostering community. Find more information on their website here: niaaa.org.
