He recommends that high school coaches reach out to incoming freshman in the hallways by introducing themselves and starting a dialogue that will help these students feel more comfortable in a new setting. Create a Big Brother & Sister program that reaches out to middle school and elementary school students. Building trust and relationships are key for students and their parents for making a successful transition.
