Jon Payne believes that student discipline is an opportunity to build a relationship with each individual and help them understand that the goal is to help them, not get them. When a situation occurs, he gathers as much information as possible and then communicates with the student. He stresses not raising your voice and embarrassing a student but working toward the goal of reconstructing negative behavior. You must be willing to suspend a student if warranted and make sure they and their parents understand the process.
